This calculator is built on the Gold Standard of Feline Metabolic Science. It utilizes the Resting Energy Requirement (RER) formula and specific activity multipliers established by the National Research Council (NRC) and the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA).
Rather than using a “one size fits all” approach, our tool applies the metabolic body size exponent (0.75) to ensure accuracy based on your cat’s specific life stage, weight, and neuter status.
